Safety Initiatives

Through our daily operations, we contribute to creating a safe and secure road environment.

We prioritize safety in the inspection and maintenance of highways using our accumulated expertise. However, on December 2, 2012, a tragic accident occurred in the Sasago Tunnel of the Chuo Expressway, resulting in the collapse of the tunnel ceiling, and the loss of nine precious lives and many people affected.
Without forgetting this accident, all our employees deeply reflect on it and are strongly determined to never let such an accident happen again. We prioritize the safety of our customers and contribute to creating a safe and comfortable road environment through our daily operations.

Improving Reliability

Through the development of personnel who can manage comprehensive high-speed highway maintenance effectively and efficiently with a high level of technical expertise while prioritizing safety, we aim to continuously meet the expectations of society and maintain a sense of mission. We will continue to protect a safe, secure, and comfortable road environment.

Advancement of Inspection Techniques

Many of the highways in our operational area were constructed during the period of rapid economic growth. The aging of these highways has progressed, and the situation calls for increased inspection points, frequency, and repairs, as well as challenges such as a shortage of technicians due to an aging workforce and rising maintenance costs. Consequently, relying solely on traditional inspection methods will increasingly make it difficult to address maintenance and management.
To address these issues, we will actively pursue the "development of advanced inspection techniques contributing to safety and efficiency enhancement." This will enhance the reliability and efficiency of inspection operations.

E-MAC技術研修センター

The E-MAC Technical Training Center has been completed in Kakamigahara City, Gifu Prefecture, with the aim of strengthening inspection technology and developing engineers to improve the safety of highways. The center is equipped with major facilities related to highways, allowing for practical training using actual equipment as well as training in accident and malfunction response.
For the time being, the training at E-MAC is only for the employees of the NEXCO Central Japan Group, but it is planned to be offered as a training facility for engineers involved in road inspection and maintenance work in the future.
